Cost of products sold in Azerbaijani retail outlets rises in 7M2021

The total cost of products sold in Azerbaijan’s retail outlets has grown from January through July 2021, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this indicator made up 22.9 billion manat ($13.4 billion), which is by 2.6 percent more on annual basis.

In the first seven months of this year, the turnover of food, drinks, and tobacco products amounted to 12.38 billion manat ($7.28 billion) and non-food products – 10.55 billion manat ($6.21 million).

The cost of sold food products has increased by 2.4 percent while non-food products - by 2.8 percent from January through July 2021 compared to the same period of 2020.

Some 48.7 percent of the funds spent by buyers from January through July 2021 accounted for food, 13.8 percent - textiles, clothing, and footwear; 5.2 percent - furniture and electrical appliances, 6.1 percent of the total spent funds - the purchase of gasoline, 2.2 percent - pharmaceutical and medical products, 0.8 percent - computers, telecommunications equipment, printing products, 17.9 percent – other non-food products.

Meanwhile, the average monthly retail trade turnover per capita amounted to 327.2 manat ($192.4).
