Uzbekistan’s volume of industrial production of SEZ enterprises increases

The volume of industrial production of enterprises at small economic zones (SEZ) in 6M2021 reached 7.44 trillion soums ($699 million), Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the committee, In Uzbekistan, enterprises of SEZ in 6M2021 received a loss before income tax of 257.9 billion soums ($24 million). Last year, over the same period, revenue was recorded at $500.8 billion ($47 million).

The committee added up the profit and loss indicators of all enterprises, so some firms could have gone into a plus, and some into a minus, but as a result, the total SEZ organizations went to a loss.

It is reported that as of July 1, 529 enterprises operated in special economic zones, while as of April 1, there were 526 enterprises.

It is noted that despite the negative financial result, the firms of special economic zones reduced accounts receivable to 3.8 trillion soums / $357 million (-11.9 percent). Accounts payable fell to 5.2 trillion soums / $489 million (by 9.7 percent).

The volume of industrial production of SEZ enterprises in 6M2021 reached 7.44 trillion soums ($699 million), which is 1.5 times more than in the same period last year. Exports this year amounted to 1.06 trillion soums ($100 million).

The volume of construction work carried out in six months on in the SEZ amounted to 12.6 billion soums ($1.2 million). Last year, for the same period, this figure was at the level of 10.5 billion soums ($986,956).

In addition, at the expense of all sources of financing, investments for 1.36 trillion soums ($127,834) were invested in fixed assets, which is 42.9 percent more than during the same period last year.
