Parliamentary Budget Office presents updated forecast of economic growth

Parliamentary Budget Office presented an updated forecast of economic growth, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to the document, in the third quarter of 2021, Georgian economy will grow by an average of 8.7 percent compared to the same period of last year. It’s noteworthy that if the forecast is correct, then the economy will grow 2.7 percent this year compared to the third quarter of 2019.

The forecast published by the Budget Office is based on a few key assumptions:

In the third quarter tourism will grow 5.5-fold compared to 2020, but will be 3.6 times less compared to the same period of 2019

Domestic tourism activity will continue. Consumption in both the private and government sectors is expected to increase

Amid the global economic recovery, demand for exports is expected to increase as well as exports from the country.
