Three projects worth $125 million are being implemented by Qatari partners in Kazakhstan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Samruk-Kazyna Foundation.
According to the information, the Samruk-Kazyna Foundation held a meeting of the Kazakh-Qatari business council in Qatar, which was attended by heads of large companies from Kazakhstan and Qatar, members of the government of Kazakhstan, representatives of government departments and financial institutions.
The Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Almasadam Satkaliev stressed that the Kazakh-Qatari business cooperation is reaching a qualitatively new level and outlined the prospects for expanding the strategic partnership:
- Investment cooperation with the Qatar Investment Fund in the field of energy, infrastructure, agriculture, commercial real estate, as well as privatization assets.
- Cooperation in a multilateral format in the implementation of large projects in the mining sector, industry and infrastructure, construction, tourism, and the development of agricultural technologies.
- Cooperation in socially significant areas - in culture, education, medicine and healthcare.
Also, focusing on the results of trade and economic interaction, Satkaliev stressed that Qatar is one of the important economic partners of our country. Currently, three projects worth 125 million are being implemented with Qatari partners in Kazakhstan, including:
• construction of a perinatal center in the Almaty region with the participation of Qatar Development Bank;
• a project to modernize the infrastructure of Matybulak training center for combat training with the participation of Barzan Holdings;
• opening of an independent Qatari bank at the AIFC site with Al Rayan Investment.
