Iran shares data on its trade turnover

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 29

The value of Iran's trade turnover for the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), amounted to $34.2 billion, Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

He made the remark to reporters after getting acquainted with Iran's Imam Khomeini International Airport.

Mirashrafi noted that the value of Iran's exports during the reporting period amounted to $17.6 billion, while the imports to $16.6 billion. This shows that Iran's trade turnover has a positive balance of $1 billion.

The director general added that the exports increased by 62 percent in terms of value, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

According to him, Iranian products were mainly exported to Iraq, Afghanistan and Turkey, while Iran mainly imported goods from China, Turkey and the UAE.

Mirashrafi emphasized that gas and petrochemicals were the main exported goods.
