Iran's Qom Province issues more permits for industrial units

Qom Province is issuing more permits for production units in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), the head of the Industry and Mine Organization in Qom Province told Trend in an interview.

A total of 264 permits has been issued for investment in Qom Province during the first four months of the current Iranian year, which attracted $1.4 billion and created 5,000 jobs, said Mahmoud Tijani.

About 23 development permits were issued for production units and $189 million was invested and created jobs for 1,100 individuals.

In the first four months of the current Iranian year, a total of 44 new or unfinished projects have been completed and attracted $117 million investment, and created direct jobs for 1,710 people.

A total of 33 new production units was developed and they received a work permit and attracted $62 million and created 793 jobs.

Currently, 3,225 production units have valid permits in Qom Province and more than 60,000 are employed and $1.8 billion invested in them.

"For the renovation of production units, 34 new types of machinery were imported and were exempted from customs duty. About 960 new business permits were issued that 60 percent were for service distribution and 40 percent for technical units," he noted referring to renovation plans for production units.

In the first four months of the current Iranian year, 11 inactive units were activated that worked in the textile and food industries and they created 97 new jobs and attracted $21 million.

The province target is to launch 38 inactive units by the end of the current Iranian year.

"Another measure made by the Industry and Mine Organization was inspection and monitoring of production units and so far 30,000 inspections were carried out and 4,000 violations were reported," Tijani added

The Industry and my Organization in Qom Province have issued 3 mining licenses, 3 explorations licenses, and 13 permits for mine extraction in the first four months of the current Iranian year.

There are 430 unfinished industrial units and from this figure 150 industrial projects will launch by the end of the current Iranian year.
