Iran boosts exports via customs of Markazi Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 30

The exports through the customs of the Markazi Province (central Iran) increased by 53 percent in terms of value and 7 percent in terms of volume during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office, Esmaeil Hosseini said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to the director general, 607,000 tons of goods worth $467 million were exported through the customs of the Markazi Province in the 5 months.

“The main exported goods were various hydrocarbons, aluminum ingots, polyethylene, metal products and ceramics. These goods were exported to 82 countries, including Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan,” he added.

Hosseini noted that moreover, 50,000 tons of goods were imported to the Markazi Province of Iran within the mentioned period. The imports decreased by 3 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year. The imported goods were mainly manufacturing equipment, raw materials, etc.

The director general stressed these goods were imported from 41 countries, including the UAE, China, Germany, Turkey and India.

Hosseini said that the province's customs revenues for the five months of the current Iranian amounted to 890 billion rials (about $21.2 million), which is an increase of 147 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
