Iran to provide loans to local tea factories and farmers

Iranian government will provide low-interest loans worth 600 billion rials (about $14.3 million) to tea factories and farmers in Iran in the second half of the current Iranian year (from September 23, 2021 through March 20, 2022), the Chairman of the Iran Tea Organization, Habib Jahansaz told Trend.

According Jahansaz, the loans will be repaid for a period of 5 years.

The chairman added that the factories will be provided a maximum loan of 6 billion rials (about $143,000).

“Also, farmers will be provided a loan of 300 million rials (about $7,140) per hectare for rehabilitation work, and 40 million rials (about $952) per hectare as working capital,” he said.

Jahansaz emphasized that within the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), Iran provided loans worth 210 billion rials (about $5 million) in tea sector.
