Uzbekistan imported 17,300 tons of tea from 20 foreign countries for $23.2 million within 8 months of 2021, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan State Statistics Committee.
This is $757,000 more than in the same period of last year.
The bulk of tea products were imported from China – 13,500 tons. The share of other countries in imports was: Kenya – 1,400 tons: Iran - 594.7 tons; India - 364.4 tons; Indonesia - 358.9 tons; Sri Lanka - 291.6 tons; Vietnam - 289.4 tons; Russia -237.6 tons; the UAE - 168 tons.
Moreover, the largest number of products was imported by the following regions: Tashkent – 8,500 tons; Fergana region – 3,900 tons; Namangan region – 3,600 tons; Andijan region - 796.6 tons; Samarkand region - 252.9 tons; Tashkent region - 239.7 tons; Navoi region - 28.5 tons; Karakalpakstan - 15.7 tons.
