The paddy seeds growing in Iran is estimated to increase by 8 percent in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), compared to last Iranian year (March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), Deputy Director of Seed and Plant Certification and Registration Institute of Iran Samad Mobasser said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran.
According to Mobasser, more than 4,000 tons of paddy seeds will be grown this year. About 3,500 tons of it will be provided with a quality certificate.
The deputy director added that paddy seeds have been planted on about 1,370 hectares of land in the Gilan and Mazandaran province of Iran this year. Its 884 hectares are in Gilan Province and 493 hectares in Mazandaran Province.
“Meanwhile last Iranian year, 3,990 tons of paddy seeds were grown in Iran, of which 3,370 tons were issued with a quality certificate,” he said.
