According to preliminary data, from January through June 2021, 5.7 thousand tons of honey were produced in Uzbekistan, which is 1.5 percent more compared to the corresponding period of 2020, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
High volumes of honey production were recorded in farms – 5,000 tons or 88 percent of the total production.
The largest share in the total volume of honey received in the country fell on the Jizzakh region (15.6 percent), also high rates were observed in the Fergana region (14.9 percent) and Bukhara region (14.8 percent). At the same time, the lowest share was recorded in the Syrdarya region (2.4 percent).
Moreover, from January through June 2021, 22,700 tons of cocoon raw materials were procured in the country, which is 12.1 percent more.
The highest share in the total volume of cocoon raw materials procured in Uzbekistan fell on the Samarkand region (13 percent), and high rates were also noted in the Andijan region (12.8 percent), Bukhara region (10.5 percent), Kashkadarya region (9.4 percent) and Fergana region (9.3 percent).
The lowest share was observed in the Syrdarya region (2.7 percent) and Karakalpakstan (3.3 percent).
It is worth noting that at the end of 2020, Uzbekistan produced a total of 2,5 million tons of meat (in live weight).
