Uzbekistan’s State Customs Committee shares details on incentives for automakers

UzAuto Motors, Jizzakh Automobile Plant, ADM Jizzakh, Roodell, and other automakers of Uzbekistan received privileges on customs duties, VAT, and excise duty for $240.9 million for six months of 2021, Trend reports referring to Uzbekistan’s State Customs Committee.

This amount is more than 38 percent of the gross regional product of the Syrdarya region.

These customs benefits and preferences are provided by documents of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

UzAuto Motors received a total of $177.6 million in benefits, including $153.3 million in customs duties, $23.8 million in value-added tax (VAT), and $ 33,300 in excise tax.

For six months, the Jizzakh Automobile Plant received benefits for $30.2 million, including customs duties - $26.2 million, VAT - $3.9 million.

According to the State Customs Committee, from January through June 2021, Roodell received a total of $13.1 million in customs privileges: duties - $11.4 million, VAT - $1.7 million.

Moreover, the ADM Jizzakh plant received benefits for $4.5 million: duties - $4.4 million, VAT - $53,500.

The SamAuto joint venture received benefits for $7.5 million in the first half of the year, including customs duties - $6.4 million, VAT - $1.1 million.
