Iran discloses added value of steel sector in Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 12

The added value of steel production in the Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) was $2.3 billion over the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the Razavi Khorasan Province Javad Khazaei said, Trend reports citing organization.

Khazaei noted that $472 million worth of iron ore was produced in the province. With the conversion of iron ore into a concentrate, the value of the product exceeded $780 million.

The chairman added that the conversion of the concentrate into iron ore pellets has created an additional $1 billion in value.

According to him, there are 5 facilities on iron ore pellet production in Razavi Khorasan Province. These facilities can produce 15.6 million tons of pellets.
