Kazakhstan reports decrease in crude oil output

Kazakhstan has extracted 71.8 million tons of coal over the period from January through August 2021, which is 0.1 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The report said that the volume of coal extracted in August 2021 stood at 9.05 million tons, which in turn is 3.7 percent more than in August 2020.

Furthermore, crude oil extraction including gas condensate was 55.9 million tons during the reporting period, which is 4.1 percent less as compared to the volume extracted during the same period of 2020. Kazakhstan’s August oil output was 6.2 million tons, which also is 7.6 percent less than during the same month of 2020.

Kazakhstan also extracted 35.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the reporting period of 2021 and 3.8 billion cubic meters in August, which is 5.6 percent less and 11.1 percent less year-on-year.

Fuel oil manufacturing volume stood at 1.6 million tons and 157,300 tons during the reporting period and August 2021 respectively, which is 20 percent more and 11.6 percent less than during the same period of 2020.

Kerosene manufacturing amounted to 399,300 tons over eight months (up by 43.3 percent) and 66,000 tons in August 2021 (up by 2.7 times), whereas diesel manufacturing equaled 3.3 million tons over eight months (up by 9 percent) and 513,600 tons in August 2021 (up by 8.7 percent).

Hydrocarbon liquefied gases output was 767,500 tons over eight months of 2021 with an annual decrease of 3.5 percent, whereas August output was 102,100 tons (up by 10.7 percent annual).

Electricity generation over eight months of 2021 equaled 74.8 billion kWh, which is 7.7 percent more than during the same period of 2020, whereas the volume of electricity generated in August 2021 amounted to 8.7 billion kWh, which is 9.3 percent more year-on-year.

The volume of thermal energy generated from January through August 2021 amounted to 55.7 million Gcal with an annual increase of 10 percent, whereas August 2021 output was 2.8 million Gcal, which is 6.1 percent more than in August 2020.
