Uzbekistan shares data on volume of completed construction work

The volume of construction work completed in Uzbekistan amounted to $6.1 billion from January through August of this year, and the growth rate in relation to the corresponding period of 2020 reached 2 percent, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The volume of construction work carried out by large construction organizations from January through August 2021 amounted to $1.5 billion. Compared to the same period of 2020, the growth rate of construction work reached 91 percent, and their share in the total volume decreased by 3.3 percent and amounted to 25.2 percent.

The highest share in the volume of construction work performed by large construction organizations was noted in the city of Tashkent (34.1 percent of the total volume of construction work), Bukhara region (20.3 percent) and Kashkadarya region (20.2 percent).

The volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and microfirms increased and amounted to 56 percent of the total volume, which is 1.6 percent more if compared with the same period last year. Thus, the volume of construction work performed by them amounted to $3.4 billion.

The largest volume of construction work performed by small enterprises and microfirms in the period under review was noted in Tashkent ($874.6 million, or 56.6 percent of the total), the Samarkand region ($277.5 million, or 65.2 percent), the Tashkent region ($276.5 million or 55.4 percent) and Fergana region ($270.1 million or 68.8 percent).

The share of construction work in the informal sector amounted to 18.8 percent, or $1.1 billion, the growth rate compared to the reporting period of 2020 reached 111.4 percent.

Construction work carried out by government organizations reached $2.4 billion, the volume of construction work carried out by non-governmental organizations amounted to $5.9 billion, and their share is 4 percent and 96 percent, respectively.
