Serial assembly of LADA cars has begun in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Roodell, the official importer of LADA cars in the country.
The first models produced by the SKD method were LADA Vesta SW and LADA XRAY. The production of the LADA Largus model will start in the future.
The assembly was organized at the ADM Jizzakh automobile plant located in the Jizzakh free economic zone.
“Uzbekistan is one of the key export markets for AVTOVAZ, and the LADA brand is well known in the country. The new stage of cooperation will make it possible to continue the development of LADA in the country's market, providing modern cars and high-quality service to customers,” the company noted.
Local assembly will make LADA cars more affordable for consumers, primarily through credit programs and trade-ins. In addition, the local assembly will increase customer coverage through participation in public procurement, which will expand the presence of the LADA brand in Uzbekistan.
In 2020, more than 5,000 LADA cars were sold in Uzbekistan through the Roodell dealer network.
