TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 22

Trend:

The trade between Iran and Italy is increasing and the annual trade between the two countries is about €1 billion, said chairman of Iran-Italy Joint Chamber of Commerce Ahmad Pourfallah, Trend reports citing ILNA.

Pourfallah indicated that trade volume between the two countries during the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21,2021) was between €400,000 to €450,000.

"There is still a long way to go to reach €7 billion worth of trade volume that we used to have, but the trade volume is increasing and we hope we would witness bigger figures by the end of current year," he said.

He added that a webinar was held on Sept. 21 where 400 Iranian and Italian businessmen and ambassadors of Iran and Italy participated, which could inspire further cooperation.

He expressed hope the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would be implemented and Iran's problem would be resolved. He also pointed out that it is necessary that Iran joins the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to fortify international ties.

The official indicated that Iran 's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization creates hope that the country would have more share in international economy.
