Iran sees increase in red meat production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 26

Red meat production in Iran increased by 43 percent in 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Statistical Center of Iran.

According to the statistics, Iran produced a total of 52,800 tons of red meat in 5th month.

About 53.5 percent of total red meat production in Iran for the mentioned month, was accounted for beef and veal. So, Iran produced 28,200 tons beef and veal within fifth month.

In addition, Iran produced 20,200 tons of mutton in 5th month, which accounted for 38.2 percent of total red meat production in Iran over the reporting period, the statistics said.

Iran also produced 3,440 tons of goat meat during the fifth month of the current Iranian year that accounted for 6.5 percent of total red meat production in Iran.

"Meanwhile, the production of other animal meat in Iran amounted to 939 tons over the 5th month and accounted for 1.8 percent of total red meat production in Iran within the mentioned month," the statistics said.

Red meat production in 5th month of current Iranian year, decreased by about 2 percent, compared to the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2021).
