Kazakhstan's trade dynamics with TOP-3 CIS partners unveiled

The total volume of trade between Kazakhstan and the CIS countries has grown in the first eight months of 2021, Trend reports citing the Kazakh Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, this indicator amounted to $19.8 billion, which is 25.8 percent more than from January through August 2020 ($15.6 billion).

In the first eight months of this year, the largest trading partners of Kazakhstan among the CIS countries were Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

So, at the end of the reporting period, the volume of trade between Kazakhstan and Russia reached $14.7 billion, which is 25.5 percent more ($11.6 billion) than in the same period in 2020.

Meanwhile, Russia’s share in the total trade of Kazakhstan increased to 23.5 percent (against 20.4 percent last year).

Export of products from Kazakhstan to Russia amounted to $4.4 billion in the eight months, thus growing by 41.4 percent (against $3.1 billion for the same period of last year), while the imports settled at $10.3 billion, an increase of 19.7 percent.

Uzbekistan ranked second with a bilateral trade volume of $2.3 billion, which is 35 percent more than last year. Exports from Kazakhstan to this country amounted to 1.7 billion (an increase of 37.6 percent), while imports - $643.1 million (up by 28.7 percent).

The volume of bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan equaled $697.8 million, which is 42.7 percent more on annual basis.

Exports from Kazakhstan to Tajikistan totaled $482.7 million (compared to $416.2 million last year), while imports - $215.06 million (against $72.6 million last year).
