Iran sees increases in exports

The exports of Iran increased by 27 percent in terms of value and 5 percent in terms of volume in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2021), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

The spokesman said that Iran's exports for the reporting month amounted to 15.2 million tons worth about $5.27 billion.

“Within the 7th month, Iran exported 5.85 million tons of goods worth $1.64 billion to Iraq, 2.05 million tons worth $1.12 billion to China, 3.78 million tons worth $1.08 billion to Turkey, 788,000 tons worth $347 million to the UAE, and 274,000 tons worth $127 million to Afghanistan,” he added.

According to Latifi, Iran's trade turnover for the 7th month of the current Iranian year amounted to 19.5 million tons worth $9.88 billion.

Reportedly, Iran's foreign trade turnover for the seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021) amounted to 98 million tons worth $54.8 billion. The trade turnover increased by 43 percent in terms of value and 16.5 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

So, Iran exported 75.2 million tons of goods worth $27.1 billion in 7 months, which is an increase of 47 percent in terms of value and 15 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In addition, Iran imported 23.5 million tons of goods worth $27.7 billion within the mentioned period, which is an increase of 38 percent in terms of value and 21 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
