Iran launches several mines in Markazi Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 15

As many as 16 mines in the Markazi Province (central Iran) have been licensed in order to extract 9,030 tons of minerals from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to November 14, Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Markazi Province Saeed Jafari said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

Jafari noted that the private sector has spent 323 billion rials (about $7.69 million) on the launch of these mines. As a result, 83 people have been provided with jobs.

“In addition, Iran has issued licenses to carried out exploration operations in 11 mines in the province for the reporting period,” he added.

The chairman stressed that in total, 4,640 people work in the mines of the Markazi Province and 36 types of minerals are extracted.

Reportedly, 619 mines are operating in Iran’s Markazi Province. These mines produce 1.35 million tons of minerals per year. So far, about 6.09 trillion rials (about $145 million) has been invested in the mines under operating in the province.
