Iran records increase in exports from Gilan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 6

Iran’s exports from the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 35 percent in value and 11 percent in volume, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Gilan Province Farhad Dalghpoush said, Trend reports citing the organization.

The chairman noted that a total of 704,000 tons of goods worth $412 million were exported from Gilan Province in 8 months.

Dalghpoush added that the province’s goods were mainly exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine.

“In addition, the luggage export by citizens from the Gilan Province for 8 months amounted to 131 tons worth $524,000, which has decreased by 69 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year due to the coronavirus pandemic,” he said.

According to the chairman, moreover, a number of essential products and raw materials of were imported to the Gilan Province within the mentioned period. The volume of imports amounted to 1 million. The imported goods were barley, meat, chemicals, paper and etc. These goods were imported from China, Turkey, the UAE, Kazakhstan and Russia.
