Iran and Syria are to launch a joint mercantile exchange, said head of Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization Majid Eshghi, Trend reports citing ILNA.
He pointed out that the exchange would function in both countries.
"Iranian companies will expand Syria's capital market and help production at factories," he said, speaking of the mercantile's benefits.
Eshghi noted that recent joint economic meeting between the officials of the two countries resulted in agreement over launching such a mercantile exchange through joint cooperation of related organizations of both Iran and Syria.
It should also be noted that Iranian Mercantile Exchange has opened in Syria's Damascus.
