Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange down

A total of 1.72 million tons of goods worth more than 117 trillion rials (about $2.77 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (December 18 through December 23, 2021), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is a decrease of 21 percent in value, and 17 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (December 11 through December 16, 2021).

So, 2.07 million tons of goods worth more than 149 trillion rials (about $3.54 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 1.43 million tons of goods worth about 68.7 trillion rials (about $1.63 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

The main products sold in this section were cement, steel, iron ore, sponge iron, cast-iron, aluminum, copper, zinc, oil coke, molybdenum concentrate, and etc.

In addition, about 284,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 46.6 trillion rials (about $1.1 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, bitumen, vacuum bottom, chemicals, lube cut, sulfur, base oil, slaps wax, argon and etc.

Furthermore, about 6,900 tons of various products worth about 1.16 trillion rials (about $27.7 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
