Iran reveals data on production of several mining products

Iran has recorded a decrease in production of several mining products, such as raw steel, steel products, alumina, coal, and cement, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

According to the statistics, Iran produced 18.6 million tons of raw steel in 8 months, which is 3.1 percent less than in the same period last Iranian year.

In addition, 16.6 million tons of steel products were produced in the country for the reporting period. This is a decrease of 6.6 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Over 8 months, 202,000 tons of copper cathode were produced in Iran, which is an increase of 6.2 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Iran also produced 360,000 tons of aluminum ingots within the mentioned period. The production increased by 24.8 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, Iran’s alumina production for eight months amounted to 155,000 tons. This shows a decrease of 9 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

According to the statistics, about 942,000 tons of coal concentrate were produced in the country in 8 months, which is a decrease of 12 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Furthermore, Iran has produced 43.3 million tons of cement during the reporting period. Cement production decreased by 10.6 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

At the same time, ceramic production in Iran increased by 3.5 percent in 8 months, compared to the same period last Iranian year and amounted to 300 million square meters.
