Turkmenistan-Tajikistan trade turnover almost triples in 11M2021

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan increased by 2.7 times in the first 11 months of 2021, Trend reported citing Tajikistan’s Economic Development and Trade Ministry.

Turkmenistan has become one of eight partner countries with which Tajikistan increased trade turnover during the reporting period. At the same time, Tajikistan’s trade turnover with Uzbekistan grew by 32 percent, and with Kazakhstan by 30.6 percent.

Back in August 2021, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon discussed strengthening and expanding trade and economic ties between the two countries in Ashgabat.

They stated their willingness to significantly expand cooperation in the fuel and energy complex products trade, construction and chemical industries, food, textile, pharmaceutical industries, and agriculture.

The parties signed 19 documents aimed to promote bilateral cooperation in the future.
