Iran's exports to European countries increased by 199 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), Director General of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran’s (TPOI) Arabic-African Affairs Office Farzad Piltan said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
According to Piltan, the value of Iran's exports to African countries for the reporting period amounted to $912 million.
“Over 9 months, Iran exported $292 million worth of goods to Ghana, $169 million worth to South Africa, $85 million worth to Nigeria, $72 million worth to Sudan and $67 million worth to Algeria,” he added.
The director general noted that Iran also exported $57 million worth of goods to Kenya, $55 million worth to Mozambique, $59 million worth to Tanzania, $18 million worth to Somalia and $14 million worth to Côte d'Ivoire.
Piltan also pointed out that the value of Iran's exports to African countries is expected to exceed $1 billion by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2022).
“Meanwhile, the value of Iran’s imports from African countries amounted to $40 million within 9 months,” he said.
The official said that researches show that Iran's trade potential with African countries is $5 billion a year.
