Iran's raw steel exports amounted to 5.19 million tons in total, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through December 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
According to the statistics, this is an increase of 16 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“In addition, Iran exported 2.48 million tons of steel products in 9 months, which is an increase of 25 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, Iran imported 586,000 tons of steel products within the mentioned period. This is a decrease of 14 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the report, Iran exported 869,000 tons of sponge iron in 9 months. This is an increase of 92 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 453,000 tons of sponge iron were exported in Iran in the same period last Iranian year.
