Turkmen garment factory ramps up production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 20

By Amina Nazarli - Trend:

Turkmenistan’s Bereket Garment Factory manufactured products worth 16.3 million manat ($4.6 million) in 2021, which is 3.3 million manat (about $955,000) or 25 percent more than planned, Trend reports via Business Turkmenistan portal.

The enterprise, founded in 2011 by Turkmenistan's Textile Industry Ministry, is outfitted with cutting-edge technology from leading companies in Turkey, Japan, and Germany.

The fabric for the factory's sewing comes from the capital's textile complexes and other Turkmen enterprises. The fabric required for production is produced at a rate of 1,140 tons per year.

The textile industry is one of Turkmenistan's most important economic sectors. More than 55 percent of Turkmen textile products are exported.

Cooperation with foreign companies and international financial institutions ensured Turkmenistan's textile industry's growth and development.

Today, the industry's infrastructure consists of dozens of large textile complexes, cotton spinning and weaving industries, clothing factories, and silk processing enterprises, all of which have made significant investments. Some 13 modern textile plants were put into operation with the help of foreign companies.

The Textile Industry Ministry's structure includes more than 80 enterprises for the processing and production of finished products.

More than $300 million is planned to be allocated until 2025 for the implementation of more than 30 textile industry projects, which are expected to increase commercial product production by 1.2 times.
