Iran’s Shazand TPP boosts electricity generation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 1

Electricity generation of the Shazand Thermal Power Plant in the Markazi Province (central Iran) increased by 6 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Head of the Shazand TPP, Shahram Iranpak said, Trend reports citing Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s website.

The official noted that the Shazand TPP has generated about 6.89 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity within the mentioned period.

“Meanwhile, in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), the thermal power plant’s electricity generation amounted to 732 million kilowatt-hours. Electricity generation increased by 52 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year,” Iranpak added.

The Shazand Thermal Power Plant was established in 2000 in the Shazand County of Iran's Markazi Province. The power plant has 4 units with a generation capacity of 325 megawatt-hours of electricity each and can generate a total of 1,300 megawatt-hours of electricity.
