By Amina Nazarli - Trend:

The Eşret, the farm operating under the Parahat enterprise in Turkmenistan, has recently purchased five John Deere tractors, one grain harvester, a seeder, a grader, and several plows, Trend reports referring to Jeyhun News.

This agricultural equipment was purchased at the expense of state-provided concessional loans.

The new machinery will be used for agricultural work on 103 hectares of land that were allocated for farm’s fodder crops.

Furthermore, the farm also signed a contract with CLAAS, a German agricultural machinery manufacturer, for the supply of new equipment.

The farm, which opened in 2015, specializes in poultry farming and the production of chicken meat and eggs.

Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of Turkmenistan's economy. The main types of crops grown in the country are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.

The state provides targeted support for the development of the agricultural sector. In particular, the entire production infrastructure of the agro-industrial sector is being re-equipped and modernized, the chemical industry is developing, and modern tractors, combines, and other equipment are being purchased.

The country has created special agricultural land funds for growing agricultural products from arable land. Thus, land plots for up to 99 years are allocated from these funds for use by joint-stock companies, farmers, other legal entities, and citizens of Turkmenistan.

Moreover, farmers and private entrepreneurs can take advantage of preferential bank loans. At preferential prices, farmers receive mineral fertilizers, high-quality seeds, and chemical plant protection products.
