The value of trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan is $400 million, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said, Trend reports.
He made the remark during a press conference on the 43rd anniversary of the victory of the Iranian Revolution and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The ambassador emphasized that this is the official figure on the value of trade turnover between the two countries.
"People of both countries are also trading, which is not recorded in official trade. Last year, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 30 percent," he added.
According to Mousavi, Azerbaijan's exports to Iran increased by 11 percent last year. During the next meeting of the Iran-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in the near future, the discussion will be conducted on increasing the value of trade turnover between the two countries to $1 billion.
