By Amina Nazarli - Trend:
Belarus hopes to resume supplies of automobiles, tractors and agricultural equipment to the Turkmen market, said Vyacheslav Beskosty, Belarus Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing Orient News.
According to the ambassador, trade and economic cooperation is a priority area of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, though it does not show positive dynamics at the moment due to the world's unfavorable epidemiological situation.
He said last year the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $20.8 million, compared to $25.7 million in 2020. Belarusian exports to Turkmenistan totaled $13.7 million, while imports - $7.1 million.
Beskosty noted that Belarus's main exports are food and medicines, automobile tires and batteries, as well as wood processing products, whereas Turkmenistan’s main exports are textiles including bed, table and kitchen linen, fabrics, clothing, as well as household items made of plastic, and oil products.
