Iran held the 17th meeting of the joint commission on Economic, trade, scientific, technological, and cultural cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing IRNA.

During the meeting, Iranian Minister of Agriculture Jihad Seyed Javad Sadati Nejad expressed hope that the level of trade between Iran and Kazakhstan will reach $3 billion over the next three years.

“The trade relations between the two countries are lower than expectations,” he said, adding that the trade volume between Iran and Kazakhstan last Iranian year (March 2020, March 2021) was $200 million, which has increased to $400 million in the current Iranian year.

The minister said that the commission focuses on expanding and finalizing agreements in various fields of trade, especially in agriculture.

He also said Iran is planning to hold an exhibition in Kazakhstan.
