BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. The iron ore pellet production of 12 major Iranian companies increased by 10 percent, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, these companies produced about 46.8 million tons of iron ore pellet over 11 months. The figure stood at 42.6 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.

"The Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company produced 11.5 million tons of iron ore pellet, Mobarakeh Steel Company – 6.11 million tons, Khouzestan Steel Company – 5.12 million tons, Middle East Mines Industries Development Holding Company (MIDHCO) – 5.1 million tons, Sangan Mining Industries Company – 3.64 million tons, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company – 3.48 million tons, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company – 3.29 million tons," the report said.

In addition, Opal Parsian Sangan Industrial and Mining Company produced 2.92 million tons of iron ore pellet, Central Iron Ore Company of Iran – 2.98 million tons, Sanabad Inclusive Development Industrial and Mining Company – 1.08 million tons, Khorasan Steel Company – 1.17 million tons and Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company – 386,000 tons within the mentioned period.

Meanwhile, the production of sponge iron by these companies for 11 months amounted to about 25.6 million tons. Sponge iron production decreased by 8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure stood at 27.8 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
