BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. The National Iranian Copper Industries Company’s copper cathode production has reached 285,000 tons in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Former Managing Director of the company, Ardashir Sad Mohammadi said, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
He made the remark during the event dedicated to the presentation of the NICICO's new Managing Director Ali Rostami.
“Meanwhile, in the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021) the company's copper cathode production amounted to 270,000 tons,” Sad Mohammadi said.
He also added that the company exported 160,000 tons of copper cathode this year.
The ex-director noted that the company's copper exports increased to 317,000 tons this year. The figure stood at 270,000 tons in the last Iranian year.
According to Sad Mohammadi, the company is currently implementing projects worth $13 billion. Thus, three copper plants are estimated to be launched in the first half of the next Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022).
