BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 24. Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation via railways amounted to 5.1 billion tenge ($10.2 million) in February 2022, which is 51.8 percent more than in February 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The revenue was 11.03 billion tenge ($21.8 million) over the period from January through February 2022, which is 53.9 percent more in comparison to last year.
The number of transported passengers amounted to 2.5 million people over two months of 2022, which is 28.8 percent more compared to the same period of last year (1.2 million passengers in February 2022, up by 37.1 percent).
The passenger turnover amounted to 2.03 billion passenger-kilometers (pkm) which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 36.8 percent. February’s passenger turnover was 985.4 million pkm (37.6 percent increase year-on-year).
Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway transportation amounted to 185.1 billion tenge ($366.7 million) over the period from January through February 2022, which is 17.2 percent more than during the same period of 2021.
Revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway in February 2022 amounted to 92.5 billion tenge ($183.2 million), which is a 23.8-percent increase in comparison to the same month of 2021.
The volume of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage transported via railway during the reporting period amounted to 70.8 million tons, climbing by 10.2 percent compared to the same period of last year (33.7 million tons in February 2022, up by 10.3 percent year-on-year).
Cargo turnover amounted to 52.05 billion ton-kilometers increasing by 18.2 percent compared to last year (24.9 billion in February 2022, which is 19.2 percent more than during the same period of 2021).
