BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. Modernization of the existing sugar factories in Kazakhstan and increasing the level of provision with domestic sugar to 80 percent are planned, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry.

These measures are provided for by the National Project for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex, as was revealed at the meeting of the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeyev with sugar and sugar beets producers of Kazakhtan’s Almaty region.

There are certain problematic issues in this area, such as the lack of raw materials for processing, including low purchase costs, crop rotation, poor technical equipment, lack of water resources and others, minister noted.

The Ministry, on behalf of the Kazakh PM, began to develop a Concept for the production of sugar and sugar beets for a comprehensive solution to the problem.
