BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. The value of lending allocated by Kazakhstan’s second-tier banks amounted to 19.1 trillion tenge ($41.7 billion) as of the end of February 2022, which is 3.3 percent more than in January 2022 and 31.3 percent more than during the same month last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s National Bank.

The value of lending to legal persons increased by 4.6 percent amounting to 8.07 trillion tenge ($17.6 billion), whereas lending value to physical persons was 11.03 trillion tenge ($24.08 billion) which is 2.3 percent more than in January 2022.

According to the bank, the value of tenge-denominated loans value increased by 2.2 percent and amounted to 17.07 trillion tenge ($37.2 billion), whereas the value of foreign currency-denominated loans decreased by 12.9 percent to 2.02 trillion tenge ($4.4 billion).

The value of long-term loans amounted to 15.9 trillion tenge in February 2022 ($34.8 billion) which is 2 percent more than in January 2022, whereas the value of short-term loans increased by 10 percent to 3.1 trillion tenge ($6.9 billion).

Lending to ventures of small entrepreneurship amounted to 3.8 trillion tenge in February 2022 ($8.5 billion), which is 8.7 percent more than in January 2022 and is 48.2 percent of the total value of corporate loans allocated as of February 2022.

The weighted average remuneration rate on tenge denominated loans to non-bank legal entities was 12.2 percent in February 2022 compared to 11.5 percent in February 2021, whereas for physical entities it was 18.4 percent compared to 18.2 percent in February 2021.
