TEHRAN, Iran, April 21. The amount of purchased wheat at the guaranteed price has reached more than 5,500 tones from south of Sistan and Baluchistan farmers, since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), said the Director general of Grain and Commercial Services Department of Iranshahr county (in Sistan and Baluchestan Province) Mohsen Allahdadi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"The guaranteed purchase of wheat will continue until the end of June in the southern cities of Sistan and Baluchestan province,” said Allahdadi.
According to the reports, Iranshahr city is typically the largest producer of wheat in Sistan and Baluchistan province.
The Official noted that so far, $6.1 million have been paid to the farmers of southern Sistan and Baluchestan for the purchase of wheat.
