BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Iran's raw steel exports increased by 25 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).

According to the statistics, Iran exported about 7.68 million tons of raw steel last Iranian year. Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year, the figure stood at 6.16 million tons.

Thus, Iran exported 5.09 million tons of billet and bloom for the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 12 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year. The figure was 4.56 million tons in the preceding Iranian year.

Iran also exported 2.58 million tons of slab within the mentioned period, which is 62 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year. So, the export amounted to 1.6 million tons in the preceding Iranian year.

Furthermore, Iran exported 3.4 million tons of steel products over the last Iranian year. This is an increase of 20 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year, the country’s steel products exports amounted to 2.84 million tons.

In particular, the country’s long steel products exports for the last Iranian year amounted to 2.84 million tons, which is an increase of 29 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year. The figure stood at 2.19 million tons in the preceding Iranian year.

At the same time, Iran exported 1.05 million tons of sponge iron last Iranian year. This is an increase of 25 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year. Thus, the country’s sponge iron exports amounted to 843,000 tons in the preceding Iranian year.
