BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Azerbaijan’s MilliON and eManat companies [payment systems] are negotiating with the Central Bank (CBA) on the issue of providing them with a new 10-manat banknote to adapt terminals to it within the upcoming introduction of the banknote into circulation, Trend reports referring to the companies.

According to eManat, negotiations are underway with the CBA, and the company plans to launch the process of adapting its payment terminals to the new banknote in the nearest future.

A representative of MilliON said that active cooperation is being carried out with the Central Bank in this direction, and in the nearest future the company plans to start optimizing the software of its terminals for the new banknote.

The banknote with a face value of 10 manat ($5.8) of a new design will be put into circulation in Azerbaijan from June 22. The security elements and design of the banknote have been updated with the latest technologies.
