BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Work is underway in Iran to resume the activity of 850 mines in the country for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Chairman of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Vajihollah Jafari said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
He made the remark at a meeting dedicated to the plans to resume the activity of small mines.
According to Jafari, these mines are located in 19 provinces of the country, and 30 plans have been developed in this regard.
The chairman added that it is planned to attract new investor for each plan.
As part of the plan to resume the activity of small mines in Iran, from March 20, 2020 to March 20, 2021, the activity of 852 mines were resumed in the country.
With the resuming of the mentioned mines, 13,800 people have been employed and the mineral production capacity of the mines has exceeded 33 million tons per year.
