BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. A total of 164,000 tons of goods worth $102 million were exported through the customs of the East Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran), in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), Customs Inspector of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province Leili Orangi told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The official noted that exports through the province customs increased by 9 percent in value compared to the same month last year, but there was no change in volume of exports.

“Furthermore, over 26,000 tons of goods worth about $75 million were imported through the province's customs for the first month. The imports increased by 30 percent in value, while did not change in volume compared to the same month last Iranian year,” he added.

Orangi noted that the province’s customs revenues for the reporting month amounted to 693 billion rials (about $16.5 million), which is an increase of 51 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
