TEHRAN, Iran, June 13. Iran is importing 12,000 tons of corn for livestock feed by three cargo ships that are currently being shipped, said the managing director of Iran National Livestock Farmers Union Mojtaba Alee, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The Ministry of Agriculture and the National Livestock Farmers Union will supply the livestock inputs and the livestock farmers' development fund will provide financial aid to producers to buy livestock feed.
He pointed out that the fund is currently purchasing domestically produced barley to supply the demands before the arrival of imports.
According to the official, the State Livestock Affairs Logistics is guarantee the purchase of red meat from producers.
