Iran’s NICICO boosts crude copper production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 4. Crude copper production of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) increased by 7 percent, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2022), compared to its plan, the Managing Director of the NICICO, Ali Rostami said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

Rostami noted that the NICICO produced a total of 78,569 tons of crude copper in 3 months.

The director added that the company also produced 327,608 tons of copper concentrate in 3 months, which is an increase of 9 percent compared to the plan.

“At the same time, the company produced 92,072 tons of copper anode within 3 months. The production increased by 7 percent compared to the plan,” he said.

In addition, the NICICO produced 75,484 tons of copper cathode for the reporting period, which is increase of 8 percent compared to the plan, Rostami pointed out.

According to the director, the company's sulfuric acid production for 3 months increased by 31 percent compared to the plan and amounted to 250,547 tons.

“About 50.7 million tons of minerals were extracted by the company in three months. This is an increase of 7 percent compared to the company’s plan,” he said.

The company also produced 14.6 million tons of sulfur within 3 months, which is 8 percent more than planned.
