BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. In total, Iran imported more than 6.32 million tons of goods worth $8.14 billion from neighboring countries, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
The customs official said that the import increased by 13 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Details of Iran’s imports from neighboring countries for 4 months:
The UAE - 3.6 million tons worth $4.9 billion – a 4-percent increase in value
Türkiye - 983,000 tons worth $1.9 billion – an 18-percent increase in value
Russia - 930,000 tons worth $599 million – a 39-percent increase in value
Pakistan - 300,000 tons worth $324 million – a 298-percent increase in value
Oman - 262,000 tons worth $323 million – a 32-percent increase in value
Kazakhstan - 173,000 tons worth $76.2 million – a 167-percent increase in value
Iraq - 39,000 tons worth $54.7 million – a 61-percent decrease in value
Qatar - 702 tons worth $13.8 million – a 208-percent increase in value
Azerbaijan - 8,600 tons worth $13.5 million – a 25-percent increase in value
Turkmenistan – 18,200 tons worth $10.6 million – a 23-percent decrease in value
Afghanistan – 6,400 tons worth $7.32 million – a 135-percent increase in value
Kuwait – 1.3 million tons worth $3 million – a 26-percent decrease in value
Other countries - 1,500 tons worth $2.8 million – a 71-percent decrease in value
Over 4 months, Iran's non-oil trade turnover with neighboring countries amounted to 27 million tons worth about $16.9 billion, an increase of 18 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
