BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8. The total sales of Kazakhstan’s companies that presented their goods on the Alibaba online platform have reached $167.7 million, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin said in a video address to the participants of the e-commerce forum in Nur-Sultan, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

“This year, the national pavilion of Kazakhstan was opened on the Alibaba marketplace, where 130 domestic companies and more than 7,500 goods are represented,” Zhumangarin noted.

He pointed out that domestic companies can also do business on other international marketplaces such as Amazon, Ebay, and Wildberries. In business terms, online trading is much more efficient in scaling and reducing costs.

“Due to the unique geographical location, our country has the opportunity to play a key role in the global turnover of the e-commerce market, becoming a reliable transit hub,” added the official.
