TEHRAN, Iran, September 26. Trade balance of Iran’s free zones has grown, said secretary of the High Council for Free and Special Economic Zones Saeed Mohammad, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The production and exports have increased and the investment in the free zones has increased by 58 percent, he said, adding that 25,000 jobs were created at the free zones during last year.
He pointed out that a total of 40 trillion rials (about$9.4 billion) has been invested in Iran’s free and special economic zones.
Mohammad underlined that an project in the Chabahar Free Zone worth 7 trillion rials ($1.6 billion) is ongoing, having reached a 30-percent progress.
He went on to say that the government is working to offer tax exemption for potential investors.
