BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. Iran's imports amounted to 16.3 million tons worth $26 billion during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), Trend reports referring to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Iran's imports for 6 months increased by 13 percent in value, while decreased by 14.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

During 6 months, Iran mainly imported rice worth about $1.22 billion, wheat worth $1.19 billion, corn feed worth $1.17 billion, soybeans worth $925 million, and mobile phones worth $867 million.

The mentioned 5 products accounted for 20.6 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports for the reporting period.

Iran imported goods worth $7.2 billion from the UAE, worth $6.84 billion from China, worth $2.68 billion from Türkiye, worth $1.38 billion from India, and worth $876 million from Russia in 6 months.

Generally, Iran's non-oil trade turnover for 6 months amounted to 68.1 million tons worth about $50.3 billion. Trade turnover increased by 13.2 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
